The Fremantle Chamber of Commerce releases the Greater Fremantle Action plan, outlining opportunities for economic investment and development. The Plan was broken down into Economic Growth, Infrastructure and Transport, Culture and Community, Tourism and Retail, Food and Beverage. Fremantle is a vibrant community and has not seen significant growth in the last few decades. The Plan addresses key specific opportunities including quick wins, outlines main barriers and highlights key actions.
The report was developed by the Infrastructure and Development Committe, where our Director Marc is a member and he led the Economic Development section. The Committee started with this report, based on the Future Freo report dated 2015, and worked for a few years in consultation, debates with industry and research from other successful Cities and key guidance reports from the UN.
The Future Freo report highlighted demographics, strengths and weaknesses in Fremantle, and paved the way for the identification of more tangible opportunities for development and investment. We progressed from that base and the result is now available for wider review and discussion.
The launch took place in our local Maritime Museum at the Port harbour.

We anticipate that private Companies, Government Agencies and individuals may consult it and get involved with developing further some of the actions that we identified.
